Artificial neural network based delamination prediction in composite plates using vibration signals

Dynamic loading on composite components may induce damages such as cracks, delaminations, etc. and development of an early damage detection technique for delaminations is one the most important aspects in ensuring integrity safety components. The presence composites reduces its stiffness further changes dynamic behaviour structures. As loss leads to natural frequencies, mode shapes, other structure, vibration analysis be ideal employ this case. In research work, supervised feed-forward multilayer back-propagation Artificial Neural Network (ANN) used determine position area GFRP plates using frequencies inputs. were obtained by finite element results are validated experimentation. findings show that suggested can satisfactorily estimate location extent plates.
